Michaels not quite out of here yet.
All his levels are good EXCEPT his magnesium, which means they keep him in till tomorrow :-(
He is eattine well today and drinking good also.
Cathy is doing well, and is here with michael at the hospital.

Evening update
Michaels morning labs were good and they are drawing his evening labs as I type this. If his evening labs and tomorrows morning labs are good then we should be bringing him home tomorrow evening.
Michaels looking good today but we have Bern making him walk more for exercise so he is a little tired.

Morning update
Michael slept well through the night.
He no longer needs oxygen when sleeping through the night.
He's been fitted for hearing aids also whichshould arrive in a few weeks.

Saturday update
Michaels doing fairly well today. He did throw up once though.
He is still eating but needs to drink more.
Cathy andmichael aren't getting too much rest ad Michael is sharing a room here and they moved the last person out at 12:00 am and moved in another one and they didn't get to sleep till 3am.
Michael won't get to come home quote yet. Maybe 2 more days to be here :-(.

Afternoon News
Michaels labs are good so far. All his levels are in the middle of where they should be.
If all reamins the same overnight and in the morning we will be able to get him home again tomorrow.

Morning and tests
We are at the hospital. Mchaels had blood tests and will be checking in for the start of hisnext chemo round.
We have consulted with his primary oncologist and the. Levels of the drugs will remain unchanged. The need to get the cancer killed off outweighs any of his current side effects.
The cancer is getting beaten back as can be seen by a shrinking in the liver tumor by about 20 to 30 percent.
The lung nodules are there still though they are smaller and less in number.

Evening update
Michaels had 2 cheese bars and some weetabix for dinner and also is snacking on another cheese bar now.
He is doing really well at the moment.

Morning Update
Michael was glad to be home last night after a long day at the hospital.
We did the MRI and CT scans but have to wait for the specialists to get the final readings of them.
the preliminary look at them shows the liver tumor is about 20-30 percent smaller and now appears to have holes or dead patches in the middle. I guess the chemo is doing a good job on it.
The patches in his lungs appear to be smaller and lesser in number also.
Michaels immune system is getting back up to full strength slowly so we will try to be at church for the main service on sunday.
THey are delaying the next round of chemo for a week till the cumming thursday to allow michaels kidneys and immune system to get back to normal.

Infusion time
Michaels getting a couple of infusions.
Fluids for hydration, magnesium .
We can go home after this. Horah !
Lab tests monday , and being admitted Thursday next week for a new round of chemotherapy.
He will probably be in from thursday next week till over the weekend.

Morning at motts
Michaels had his hearing test. He has lost some hearing and will need hearing aids later but we knew this would happen as it's a side effect of the chemo.
He is currently in for the MRI and CT scan and should be done with those thisafternoon. These will tell us how the chemo working against the cancer.
We pray the cancer is greatly reduced.
They are also doing a kidney test to see if his kidneys are back to normal. If they are Michael will get more chemo today, otherwise he will get a week off of chemo.

Michael update
Michaels hanging inherent at home. He's not drinking as much as we'd like today but his vitals are good.
Cathy had to give him a little blood pressure medicine.
He's got to go get labs done tomorrow but should be here tomorrow night and resting for Thursdays hearing test, MRI and ct scans.
He did also eat some raviolis today but has gone off of the fries he was eating.

Tests
Cathy has to take Michael to a local hospital as he needs some blood tests drawn today and the local clinics aren't able to draw from his broviac ( must be a training thing).

morning update
Michael enjoyed last night at home and and managed to down over 1000 calories yesterday.
We are hoping to keep him eating and drinking and taking his meds orally so he can stay home till thursday when his MRI and Ct scan are scheduled.

Evening update
Michaels had the last of this evenings meds and a bit to eat and drink.
He is currently watching CARS - his favorite movie. Cathy's giving him a little bath in a minute before we get him to go to sleep.
Still looking at going home ssometime tomorrow.
Michaels weight is back down to what it was when he checked into the hospital 36 Days ago. His stomach measurement is down from in the high 0's cm to around 55-5 now, also a good sign.
WE have oxygen , meds and everything else set up for him at home although he did not need any oxygen last night ! twice his levels dipped down but straight away his body adjusted and it raised back up on its own.

Morning update
Michael is possibly comming home tomorrow.
I'll be staying with Cathy at the hospital tonight to help put with Michael.
Michael has had a bite of cathys omlett and some cereal this morning and 8 ounces of drink.
He is managing to have his meds orally and keep them down.
His immunity is still low but beginning to trend back up to healthy levels.

We will have to decide tomorrow on whether Michael will go back onto intravenus fluids to get more food as he still isn't eating enough.

Afternoon update
Michaels alpha reading has dropped again and is down to 86 ! Horah !
Last reading taken last week was in the 600 range and at the start of his chemotherapy it was 64000 !
This hopefully means we have made great progress in fighting the cancer.
Michael is still not wanting to eat a lot so we continue to do all we can to get him to eat and drink at every opertunity.

Morning Update
Michaels slept good last night.
Hes only on one intravenous bag at the moment and if the can get him t o take the meds orally without throwing up (its gross tasting stuff) then he will be off everything apart from the chemo meds when he is due them.
His next chemo is monday.
He also has a hearing test this afternoon. 3pm.

Eveninng Update
WE managed to get Michael to eat a couple of tea spoons of peanut butter. Trying to get him to take enough calories by mouth is hard at the moment but a must if he is to come home.
He did walk a bit today also and we are hoping he may be able to come home tomorrow for the weekend.
He is looking more like himself as the days go by.
His MRI to check the cancer is booked in for June 18th. Pray for the Cancer to be gone or vastly shrunk.

Evening update
Still trying to get michael to eat more. Went to kroger to find high calorie food but everything is low cal these days.
His heartrate is ok and last blood pressure was a little up at 121 over77

He Has walked a long way today on his own which is also good. He walked all the way down the hall and back earlier and half way down a few minutes ago.

Michael slept through the night but wakes up in the early hours wanting to move closer to his mum.
No more chemo till Monday.
His heartrate it in the 150's .... A little high.

Evening update
Michael's resting and watching the pixar cars movie. It's his favorite.
He's doing great with his heartrate and blood pressure but still has no immunity yet.
Cathy taking good care of him, as are the doctors, nurses and techs here at Motts childrens hospital.

Night time
Michael had a nice walk with us earlier. He walked about 30 feet holding cathy hand. Then he was all pooped out so I had to carry him for a bit. We are trying to get him walking for exercise. It's also helping with his apetite.
He's had his chemo drug for today and did get a little nausia. He did throw up a little but not too much. It's the main side effect of the chemo.

Afternoon update
Michael's sleeping and currently getting electrolytes also.
His ANC number isn't raising yet so he still has no immunity after the latest chemo.
He's been walking a little for exercise.
His eyes are looking brighter and tests are showing his kidneys are recovering a bit from the chemo also.
He's been eating a little but not wanting much to drink which may be due to the fluids he is getting with his electrolytes.

Micheals up and awake this morning.
His Electrolytes are comming up.
He was eating but threw up this morning but the up side is that its helping him get some of the mucas he has out of him.
The mucas was a side effect of the incubation during the last surgery and the more of that he can get out of his system the better. If it sits in his lungs it is a good breading ground for bacteria.
Michaels doing anothe dose of the chemo today also so probably will be in hospital till at least wednesday.

Afternoon update
Michael has not had a high temp but will remain on antibiotics for another day or so.
Hessitting and watching tv with cathy at the moment.
His aperite is not very big at the moment so he may get nutrition at night through his broviac.

Slight fever yesterday
I forgot to mention, Michael is also recieving antibiotics for a low fever he had yesterday.
Morning update
Michael slept through the night.
His electrolytes were low so he was recorving animfusion of them last night.
His belly is looking smaller which looks like a positive thing.
He is really wanting to come home but until all his level scan be maintained he is stuck on hospital.
The big test will be in2 weeks when they will do scans to see his the cancer is being affected by the chemo.
God bless and please continue to pray that in 2 weeks the tests will reveal this cancer will be gone or at least greatly kiiled off.

Afternoon update
Michael's sleeping.
He's getting a routine blood infusion and has as small fever.
No trip home today do probably will be in till after Monday when he has his next chemo.

Night update
Thanks to the U of M atheletes for the visit. It is a great service you all are doing.
Micheal is sleeping soundly tonight but still in hospital.
His blood pressure is down to 101 over 58 which is great.
We are praying his levels tonight are good and also in the morning so they can release him tomorrow afternoon.

Afternoon update
Michales had a chest xray which the surgical team wanted to verify the broviac is ok and there is no air pockets outside his lungs.
The doctors are waiting on 2pm labs to check his electrolites.
So we are still waiting to see if he ch leave today.
He will be checked back in on June 18th for a MRI and scans to monitor the changes in his cancer. Please pray that these June 18th scans show no cancer or greatly reduced cancer.

We ate waiting for one more infusion this morning which should take an hour and is a drug to help prevent him getting pneumonia.
He slept last night fairly well.

Michael back in his room
He is sleeping on cathy shoulder.
His levels are getting back to normal and the doctors just want to monitor him overnight.
They are saying we will be checking out and taking him home tomorrow around mid day.

Surgery went well
The surgeon called down to say the surgery went well and the new broviac is in.
The surgeon said it will be 45 minutes before they call us to go see him.

His broviac replacement is scheduled for 10am today.

Evening update
Michael's blood pressure was up a bit bit by the time the doctors decided to give michael medicine for it the readings went back down.
He had a ultrasound yesterday on his broviac and today on his kidneys.
They will do the broviac replacement tomorrow but we do not know when.
He's talking lots and eating ok today but hasn't pooped today. ( did lastnight).
Everything else seems ok.

Morning Update
Michael and Caty got a good nights sleep last night.
Michaels still scheduled to get his broviac replaced tomorrow.
I'll be taking the day off work to be there also as although its not a big thing to get it replace, Michael will still be put under for the procedure.
Michaels heartrate is up a little this morning but still relatively good. I beleive cathy said its in the 130's.

Evening update
Michael is doing well overall.
His broviac line in is blocked and this far they gave been unable to unblock it so they may be putting in a replacement.
This may be happening on Wednesday.
I'll update tomorrow.
Also michael's next chemo is scheduled for this Monday.
Morning Update
Michael did really well and slept through the night.
His heartrate is down in the 98-110 range.
We havent heard anything on when he will be comming home but I think it will be in the next day or so.
